Royal Heritage

Pithla (or Peethla) is a historic village in Jaisalmer district, Rajasthan, located approximately 26 km south of Jaisalmer city. It has been a significant stronghold of the Rawlot Bhati Rajputs. Maharawal Sabal Singh granted this jagir to his son, Rawal Bankidas Singh.

The Great Ruler

Maharawal Sabal Singh ruled Jaisalmer from 1651 to 1661. His reign marked a significant period in Jaisalmer's history, characterized by territorial expansion and cultural flourishing.

Royal Descendants

His descendants are known as Rawlot Bhatis, who established several notable thikanas. Among his illustrious sons were Kunwar Ratan Singh of Kanod, Maharawal Amar Singh who succeeded the throne, and Kunwar Bankidas who founded Pithla Thikana.

Pithla's Foundation

Maharawal Sabal Singh granted Pithla Thikana to his son Bankidas Singh, who became the first Thakur Rawal of Pithla, establishing the prestigious Rawlot branch that continues to this day.
